Terms, asked plainly.
LAST UPDATED · MAY 2026
These are draft terms that describe how DateKnot operates today. A formal, lawyer-reviewed version lands before the v2.0 App Store submission.
Using DateKnot
DateKnot is a personal app for two consenting adults (or family, or close friends — the app doesn't assume romance). You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account (or the local digital-consent age, whichever is higher). Don't use the app for anything illegal, abusive, or harassing.
Your subscription
DateKnot is free for the basic counter, mood strip, and two-phone sync. Premium ($1.99/week, $39.99/year, or $79.99 lifetime — both phones included on one subscription) unlocks the AI features and unlimited anniversaries. Subscriptions auto-renew through Apple, and you can cancel anytime through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Your data is yours
Everything you put into DateKnot stays in your iCloud (CloudKit) and on your devices. We don't claim any rights to your photos, your journal entries, your anniversaries, or anything else. You can untie the knot and delete every copy in 30 days (see Privacy).
If we change the terms
We'll email you (if you've given us an address) and show a banner in the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. You're welcome to delete your account if you disagree — your data goes with you.
If something goes wrong
DateKnot is provided as-is. We do our best to keep your data safe, but we can't promise the app will be bug-free or always available. If you find a bug, please tell us — that's the most useful thing you can do.
